Refund & Return Policy

This Refund and Return Policy applies to purchases made through www.khayyam.eu.(“Company”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) and is designed in accordance with applicable European Union consumer protection laws, including the Consumer Rights Directive (Directive 2011/83/EU).
By placing an order through our website, customers agree to the terms below.
1. Right of Withdrawal (EU Consumers)
Customers located within the European Union have the legal right to withdraw from most online purchases within 14 days of receiving the goods, without providing a reason.
To exercise this right, the customer must notify us clearly by email or written communication before the 14-day withdrawal period expires.
2. Conditions for Returns
To be eligible for a return and refund:
- The item must be returned within 14 days after notifying us of withdrawal.
- The book must be:
- Unused
- Unread beyond reasonable inspection
- In its original condition
- Free from damage, markings, folds, stains, or other signs of use
- Books with visible signs of extensive reading or use may receive only a partial refund or may be refused.
We reserve the right to assess the condition of returned products before issuing a refund.
3. Diminished Value of Returned Books
In accordance with EU law, customers are responsible for any diminished value of goods resulting from handling beyond what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics, and functioning of the item.
Examples include:
- Folded or damaged pages
- Writing, highlighting, or annotations
- Water damage or stains
- Broken seals on collectible or special edition books
- Significant signs that the book has been fully read or used extensively
In such cases, we may reduce the refund amount proportionally or refuse the return where the product can no longer be resold as new.
4. Return Shipping Costs
Unless the return is due to our error or a defective item:
- Customers are responsible for return shipping costs.
- Original shipping fees are non-refundable.
- We strongly recommend using a tracked shipping service.
If a package is lost during return shipment, we cannot issue a refund unless proof of delivery is provided.
5. Non-Returnable Items
The following items may not be returned except where required by law:
- Digital products or eBooks once downloaded
- Audiobooks with accessed or downloaded content
- Personalized or custom-made items
- Gift cards
- Sealed products that are not suitable for return once opened for hygiene or copyright reasons where applicable
- Clearance or final sale items clearly marked as non-refundable
6. Damaged, Incorrect, or Defective Items
If a customer receives:
- A damaged item
- An incorrect product
- A defective product
they must contact us within 48 hours of delivery and provide:
- Order number
- Description of the issue
- Photographs where applicable
We will offer an appropriate solution, which may include replacement, refund, or store credit.
7. Refund Processing
Approved refunds will be processed using the original payment method.
Refunds are generally issued within 14 days after:
- We receive the returned goods, or
- The customer provides proof that the goods were returned
depending on which occurs first.
8. Refusal of Returns
We reserve the right to refuse returns where:
- The return request is made outside the legal withdrawal period
- The product shows excessive use or damage
- The returned item is incomplete
- The product is returned without proper packaging causing damage in transit
9. Exchanges
We may offer exchanges subject to product availability. Customers should contact us before returning items for exchange requests.
10. Consumer Rights
Nothing in this policy limits mandatory consumer rights under applicable European Union or national consumer protection laws.
